Ann Arbor

We've been in Ann Arbor for a few weeks now and absolutely L.O.V.E. it!! Here is a little bit of what we've been up to.

Bathroom Makeovers:

Since we have two bathrooms we designated a HIS and HERS bathroom. This works out great so I could paint mine pink without feeling guilty that he would have to be in there feeling all 'girly'.

It's pepto-bismol pink.......i love it!! Sponge painting is so easy because you can't mess it up. I bought the paint at Lowe's from their mis-tinted section and the whole can was only a dollar! That's the way to go-especially for first-timers. The apartment management said it was fine to paint and I'm glad we did because it makes it feel more like a home.

We painted an accent wall green in Matt's bathroom. As you can see, he had a good time with the paint. Isn't he cute!! Note to future painters: Masking tape does not work like the blue painter's tape. They are not the same. Splurge and get the blue tape!

Our secret garden:
Since it has rained every day since we've been here (including right now, as I'm typing this), I only thought it appropirate to plant a garden. Everything grows here! As you can see, we're still in the 'wait and see what pops up' phase of gardening. More posts to come when we reap the rewards of the harvest! This is out on our little patio.

The BIG FIND:
The apartment we have here is about twice as big as the one we had in St. George so we obviously needed a little extra furniture to fill up the space. I have been wanting to get back into playing the piano, but didn't have one. Lo and behold, CRAIGSLIST pulled through for us and we found one for FREE!! The man even delivered it to us! It is a Kimball Piano and has the origional warranty and manufacturer's info included. The color is a beautiful walnut and all we had to do was polish it up a little. It definately needs a tune-up, but other than that it plays great.
