I'll be honest.
I don't love Detroit.
I think COPS has given it a bad rep. COPS and the BIG 3 automakers.
However, there are entertaining things to do there. Things to do that are indoors. Indoors where it's NOT -8 degrees.
This past weekend we borrowed some bullet-proof vests and ventured into Detroit City.
THE AUTO SHOW was our destination.

(For those of you who are completely car-illiterate like me and can't tell what car it is just by looking at it--for you, I will narrate:) This is a Mercedes-Benz. A really expensive one. Like half a million dollars or something. Apparantly, it's so cool that it doesn't even need a windshield.

But, the Mercedes isn't as cool as this Ferrari. You know why? Because the Ferarri's had models standing next to them, just looking pretty and not saying anything. Occasionally they would smile. Now that is cool.

But this trumps all. A car that you can actually touch. Which for me was the COOLEST part of the whole show. But I'm just weird like that.
Anywhoo, those -8 winter days are perfect for ICE SCULPTURES! We went to a nearby town called Plymouth to see this exhibit. Guess who we saw there???

Hello, Mr. President! He was accompanied by Big Bird and Oscar, his bodyguards.

The batteries died on our camera after this so we didn't get many more pics.
It was a fun weekend to be together.

Hi Sweet Lindsey,
Wow! The Detoit Auto Show! How exciting! I am so glad that you and Matthew took the opprotunity to see all those wonderful new cars. They are fun to look at and sit in. And the ice scultures are fantastic! What a fun filled week-end. Thank you for sharing your great adventures with the rest of us. I love you, Mom

Fun pictures.... it seems so cold there! So unlike you! :)
Before I forget, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! (tomorrow) Hope you have a great day and fun celebrating year 23.
We're getting old....!
You should totally write for Car and Driver or some other stupid auto magazine. I might actually read it with your narrations.
The car show is one thing we have not done while living here. Guess that's what happens when it is 8 degrees below zero and you have a 2 year old - you stay home. Happy Birthday!!
I'm so not a car junkie, but you made that look really fun! Those cars are almost as nice as the little white treasure that we still drive around.
hermana... it's time for another Blog :) Love ya
