Halloween 2010- robot style

Happy Halloween! 5 years ago, on a fateful Halloween night, Matt and I met! We were both saying how we can't believe it's been 5 years. Now days I say that about everything, but it's still true; time flies! It being the boys first Halloween and our 'annaversary' we wanted to make it a big deal. I contemplated their costumes for hours, debating and debating, you know since this such a monumental decision. I finally settled on robots. Such 21st century babies! I wanted to make thier costumes but got over that in about 2 seconds when reality hit me and I realized, again, that I have zero free time. Anyway, the Friday before Halloween we trick or treated down main street Ann Arbor. The stores were handing out candy and it was a nice day outside so we were all for it. I wished the whole time that Matt was with us, but we went with our friend Audrey and her little sweet pea Daniel and had fun regardless of missing Matt.
Like most hats, the boys hated these as well. I would try to velcro them under their chin the way they were meant to be worn but that always resulted in screams. I think the hats made the costume look more like an alien than a robot anyway. Below is baby blue eyes, Jake.
I tried to get smiles out of them, but to no avail. When they would see themselves in the mirror or look at each other, a blank stare would result. They were just not sure about their costumes, which made the whole ordeal even cuter.Jakey all tuckered out. I just love pictures of them asleep. They always look so peaceful. That night I headed to our ward Halloween party. It was a great turn out and even the adults dressed up. Our good friends Matt and Becky and their little lion, Brady.

We dressed up the boys one last time in their costumes on Sunday night since Matt had missed it on Friday. All in all, it was a great Halloween weekend and fun to think back to 5 years ago. Love you Matt! Thanks for being my 'boo'. (cheesy, I know:)

This video is a crack up. Told you they hate the hats!

Very cute. Are the forearm rolls part of the robot costume? I hope not, they are cute enough to look at all year long!

Love your short hair, by the way.

So funny! I love that they are little chubs, too. They will now have documentation of how their mom tortured them for the alien robot costume. I can't wait to meet them!
