A date worth waiting for

Matt and I rarely get a babysitter and go out on a date- but this past weekend we did. Seirously, it was one of our favorite dates ever! It was an incredible evening together and made us both realize that we should 'date' more often.
We went to this new Cuban restaurant in town called Frita Batidos. The words 'cuban food' meant nothing to me before this restaurant but they mean everything to me now! They presented the frita on the leaf of what looked like a bird of paradise plant. It was a unique way to serve the food. I was thinking, "We should write out 'thanks' with the leaf" in my head, then looked at Matt who was tearing the leaf into strips and spelling 'thanks' already. It was funny. As we were leaving we looked back to see the bus boy showing the chef and owner in the back of the restaurant what we had left. They were smiling and showing all of the staff our words of appreciation. It made us laugh. We had churros and chocolate dipping sauce for dessert--a combo I had never entertained before but will do again. It was some unbelievably delicious food. Good food turns average dates into unforgettable ones, no?
After dinner we walked the long way back to our car, stopping in at a little bookstore with a band playing upstairs. So Ann Arbor-ish. The band was local and had that Jack Johnson sound to it. Relax and Chill. It was called the Billy King Band and that's them doing their thing.

From start to finish, the date was only an hour and a half long but it was just right.
Good food. Good company. Good sounds. Good sighs. It's a good life.
