Do you grab the kid....or the camera?

Aye, yie, yie these kids!! 2 two year olds-I tell ya, it's a lot of work! Today, while I was in the same room as them, they managed to dump a liter and a half of water on the floor, couches, pillows, and themselves and then proceed to run and jump in it. I had left the bottled water out on the table so that was totally my fault. Just earlier this morning they broke a glass picture frame, second one in a week.

Now, let's rewind to Friday morning in church. Sidenote: The Sabbath is on Fridays in the Middle East so all religions observe that. Relief Society's lesson was on making our homes like a heaven on earth. It was such a great reminder of what is really important in life and that I as the mother have so much control over the general feeling in our home. I left feeling so motivated to do better and be better.

Fast-forward back to this morning and the water incident. When the initial horror of finding our living room underwater had passed, I had the thought, "Grab them or just grab the camera?" Lucky for them, the camera was close by (and even luckier, NOT wet!). I put them in 'time-out' but didn't get nearly as upset with them as I normally would. It was a small mental victory for me but "by small and simple things, great things are brought to pass."

The above picture is the damage. Doesn't look like much, but I assure you that it made quite the mess. The below picture is Jake and James in time-out. No commentary necessary; this picture says a thousand words!
That time, I 'grabbed the camera' and I'm glad I did.

That picture is priceless. It's hard to be mad at that. So funny!
